Drusilla

Drusilla was introduced in season 2 of Buffy the Vampire Slayer as Spike's rather insane girlfriend. She can 'see' things, and seems to have a sixth sense sometimes. She loves to wear pretty dresses and play with her dolls. In 'Fool for Love' we are given an insight into her character; we see her before she lost her strength.

In early season two, she's a bit out of it, but that changes when Spike kidnaps Angel and performs a ritual to restore her power. When Angel loses his soul later on, she goes back to him. When Buffy kills Angel in the end of season 2, Spike takes Dru and makes a quick escape, as his deal with the Slayer forces him to. Things are okay for a while until she leaves Spike for a chaos demon.

Drusilla is captured by Spike in season 5 in an attempt win her back, but she insists he's in love with Buffy. She appears in season 7 in flashbacks and several times as The First. She appears in flashbacks in Angel season 5.

Spike

Spike is a bad guy, through and through. He's completely devoted to Drusilla, having spent most of his life as a vampire with her. When she seems to prefer Angelus to him in late season 2, he forms a temporary truce with the Slayer to stop them from sucking the world into Hell. It works, and he escapes with her to Brazil, but Dru's convinced he likes the Slayer more than her. She cheats on him with a Chaos Demon, sending him back to Sunnydale and to see Joyce, Buffy's mom. They talk over hot chocolates, until Buffy shows up, trying to get him to leave. He tells them how he kidnapped her friends, and then agrees to lead her and Angel to them if they'll do a spell for him. He gives Buffy and Angel some advice and decides not to do the spell but to win Dru back another way.

He goes away and reappears in season 4 with Harmony as his girlfriend. He fights Buffy with the Gem of Amarra, allowing him to walk in the sun, but she takes it and gives it to Angel. Even worse, she teases him about how he ended up with Harmony. Then he's chipped by the Initiative. He can't hurt humans and turns to Buffy and friends for help. When Oz leaves her, Willow does a spell and things she says begin to come true. She indirectly wishes Buffy and Spike to get married, and they start to make plans. Once told of the spell, they seem convinced that it doesn't actually affect them, and are both disgusted when the spell is broken. Spike spends the majority of the season tied up or chained to the bathtub in Giles's apartment, and is always wanting 'telly time' to watch Passions.

He spends season five living in his crypt, often with Harmony, sometimes helping out Buffy. He finds out he loves her, just as Drusilla said, and tries to tell her this. However, she doesn't like him and becomes even more upset when Riley leaves and her mother dies. Spike helps out in the final battle against Glory, but it's too late and Buffy dies.

Spike spends season six alternately fighting and sleeping with Buffy, who was returned from the dead by a ritual performed by her friends. Just as she's been saying the whole time, she doesn't love him and doesn't think she ever will. He's really concerned about her, but decides he doesn't like their relationship staying secret. He wants her to tell her friends about them, but she won't. He picked the worst time to fight with her about it: right when she has the decision to stay in her world or return to the 'real world,' where her parents are together and there are no slayers or vampires. He leaves after a particularly bad argument, and she's forced to tell her friends about what they had. Meanwhile, Spike's off in Africa getting a soul.

Spike returns in season 7 with a shiny new soul, and he's tortured by The First, often in Buffy's form, until she rescues him. He helps train the potential Slayers and supports Buffy's decisions. The Slayers kick Buffy out of her house count on his help, but he goes to Buffy instead. He dies in the final battle, wearing an amulet, and appears in Angel season 5 because of it. He annoys Angel for an entire season.

Harmony

Harmony was one of the popular group at Sunnydale High, one of Cordy's closest friends, until she was killed in the season three finale, "Graduation Day." Of course, she didn't stay dead. She rose as a vampire and followed Spike around until season five, when she seemed to get the hint that he didn't like her. In season five of Angel the Series, she reappears as Angel's annoying secretary.

Sunday

Sunday tormented Buffy through the season four premiere, "The Freshman." A vampire, she and her minions survived by killing off the freshmen at UC Sunnydale. This all changed, of course, when they came across Buffy. As they did with any target, Sunday and a few others went after the person while the rest cleaned out their room and left a "goodbye note" to be found by friends. Unlike the others, Buffy got away and found the note "she" left. Leaving it, she defeated Sunday alone, and got her stuff back.
